Practice with extra support
Write Now can be used as a free supplement for pupils who need a predictable start to spelling practice, including some pupils with dyslexia or other reading and spelling difficulties.
What the platform offers
Each exercise combines a spoken word, an image and letter choices. The child can listen again, try a letter and receive a smaller set of choices for the next attempt when needed.
These features can make it easier to begin a short, shared practice activity. They do not diagnose dyslexia, treat a learning difficulty or document an individual learning effect.
Plan the practice with the child’s support team
Choose a relevant focus
Select an exercise that connects with current teaching or an agreed support goal.
Work alongside the child
Listen, name sounds and letters, and give the child time to make another attempt.
Follow up away from the screen
Use a few words from the activity in reading, writing or spoken language with the appropriate adult support.
The adult’s role remains central
A teacher, reading specialist or parent decides whether an exercise is suitable, interprets the child’s responses and chooses any next support. Use established assessment and targeted intervention when those are needed.
